‘El Real’ which refers to currency, goes back to 1682, when the town of Alamos was founded and became a historic colonial mining town in the mountains of southern Sonora.
Despite the difficulties that faced this ancient spirit, the production of with, while it was still illegal, was punishable by death, it was still made underground and kept within small communities. One family of which specializes in its distillation and spans for four generations. This is the Miranda Urrea family.
The Maestro, Ramon Miranda Urrea, behind this fabulous brand which celebrates the rich history of the spirit continues its artisan traditions and cares for the sustainability of its production and the agaves used.
